The logs used by Heartwood Log Homes
Why do we like to build with logs? Here's one reason:
Although its original
forests of huge virgin timber have disappeared, Nova Scotia still has a thriving
forestry industry. Logs are cut for lumber, and pulpwood feeds the several
paper mills in the province. To us it is a shame to see all our best trees
turned into boards and newsprint. We feel that by using the tree as a building material in its most basic form, as a log with only the bark removed, we are not only
paying respect to it, but saving it for future generations. We are proud of the homes we create using a natural, renewable resource.
